ShoeMoney On Advertising
January 15th, 2007 by Scott W
Just a quick edit and a post to the Adwords section.
ShoeMoney just did a post stating the question - Is It A Waste Of Money To Bid On Keywords Where You Are Not In The Top Spots?
Much like myself, ShoeMoney apparently never pays more than $0.10 per click so he likes to find clever ways to work around this limitation. He also points out that you get more clicks being in the 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 spots because they are in the first and last areas. This must mean that the middle ads are, for the most part, ignored.
He points out in his post (in reference to the above image):
Notice how the bold words form a arrow like > ? That is a nice eye tracking trick that for me increased clicks by about 25% in ANY SPOT. Discovering this for me was a HUGE THING because more clicks means a higher quality score which moves you up for more exposure which means you get more clicks which… well you get the point.
Outstanding technique. Just thought you guys should know.
